Idea Montagna 'Ski mountaineering in the Orobie Valtellinesi' is a ski mountaineering guide dedicated to the valleys of the Orobie Valtellinesi, which have a roughly north-south orientation and are enclosed by severe mountains with steep slopes. The slopes rich in ski mountaineering itineraries have predominantly north-east to north-west exposures (with a few exceptions) and provide snow in excellent condition for much of the ski season.Although many are easily accessible, the most frequented itineraries are flanked by lesser-known routes that offer ski mountaineering research and exploration, where it is not uncommon to have to beat a trail with skins all the way up to the slopes on which to leave the first grooves in the untouched snow on the fun descents.This guidebook was created with the intention of collecting the main ski mountaineering itineraries in the Orobie Valtellinesi and offering an almost complete overview to those who feel the desire to explore this stupendous geographical area, wrongly often neglected because many itineraries in its valleys have not entered the list of the great classics, repeated perhaps every season.
